In response to concerns about an unexpected increase in billable events, it is important to note that Statsig has robust mechanisms in place to prevent the duplication of billable events.
For client SDKs, Statsig ensures that only one billable unit is counted within a one-hour window, while for server SDKs, this window is reduced to one minute. This effectively means that multiple exposure events for the same stable ID within these time frames do not lead to additional billable units. An increase in billable events could potentially be attributed to a rise in unique user interactions or an uptick in the usage of feature gates, experiments, or dynamic configs.
Users are advised to monitor their billing through the billing page under project settings, which provides aggregated information at the gate/test level. In cases where discrepancies are observed, reaching out to the Statsig team is recommended for a detailed investigation.
Additionally, it has been noted that for certain plans with unlimited gate checks, the plan may not have been correctly applied to a project. Once rectified, the billing page will reflect a significant number of events left, with most gate checks being free.
It is also clarified that only gate checks on rules that are partially open and have analytics enabled are billed.
